Our Story

BJ Robinson is a Colorado-based Americana/Folk/Country Songwriter-Singer whose songs will take you from summers in the Midwest to winters on the high plains.  From Grandma's kitchen to Cowboy coffee over an open campfire.  Down the highway or down the trail, you're sure to visit new places and revisit some places you've been in your head or your heart.

BJ grew up banging (literally) on his mom's old 1947 Gibson and listening to both his mom and dad sing Janis Joplin, John Prine and the Eagles.  BJ toured locally for over 10 years with his (mostly duet, sometimes 3 or 4 piece) irreverent band the Prairie Dawgs playing Bar-B-Que's, Bar-n Raisin's and Bar-mitzvahs - pretty much anything with a bar in it.

BJ began drifting back toward his roots after attending a weekend Folk Festival in Lyons, Colorado.  Leaving the weekend with lyrics and melodies swirling around in his head and a plan to attend the next year's Song School, he started writing songs and has never looked back.  Espousing lessons from his 50+ years of living, creating music that stirs the soul.  Music for people who are looking to escape, even if just for a little while.
