Stormchaser Blues

A couple of weeks ago I was reflecting on the weather.  It was what we would call a blue bird day here in Colorado.  Here in Elizabeth, it's been rodeo time again ( I wrote a song about this called Banner Town - it's pretty good, you should check it out: https://soundcloud.com/b-j-robinson/banner-town) any way, the rodeo-deo cowboys and cowgirls ride bulls and buckin horses with names like Thunder and lightning and twister and widowmaker.

But you know what they say about the weather in Colorado (and a lot of other places apparently)  If you don't like the weather just wait 10 minutes...

Meanwhile, just last week over the hill about 10 miles east and overlooking our sleepy little banner town was what appeared to be a convention of storm chasers, chasing a line of wicked thunder storms in armored assault vehicles straight out of the movie "Twister" or maybe the Discovery Channel.  I saw one that looked like a home-made gray primer armadillo on wheels and they were fixin to do battle with things like thunder and lightning and twisters and storms called widowmakers...

Think I'll stick to songwriting :-)
